Who we are

This website is operated by Justin Boswell Enterprises ("we", "us"). For any question about this policy or about information we hold, contact us using the details at the end of this page.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit an inquiry form we collect your name, organization, role, email address, and any other detail you choose to include — including optional fields such as phone number, event date, audience size, and budget range. When you join an email list we collect your email address.

Information collected automatically. Standard web-server records such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and referring page. Where a campaign link is used, we record the campaign parameters in your browser session so we know which effort led you here.

We do not collect payment information on this website. Book purchases take place on third-party retailer sites under their own policies.

Why we collect it

To respond to your inquiry, to send email you have asked to receive, to understand which pages and campaigns are useful, and to keep the site secure and functioning. We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade contact lists. We do not share what you send us with anyone except the service providers described below, and only so they can perform their function for us.

Service providers

We use a small number of third parties to operate this website. They process your information only to perform their function for us.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. In doing so it processes standard server records such as your IP address and browser type, for security and delivery purposes.

JotForm receives and stores the inquiries submitted through our forms. When you submit an inquiry, the information you entered is transmitted to and held by JotForm under their own privacy policy.

Amazon operates the store where the book is sold. If you follow a purchase link from this site, anything that happens on Amazon is governed by Amazon's privacy policy, not this one. We receive no payment or personal information from those purchases through this website.

We do not currently use an email marketing platform, a CRM, or an analytics provider. If that changes, this section will be updated before the service is enabled.

Note for maintenance: adding any new service that touches personal data means updating this list and the Content Security Policy in `build.py`.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no advertising network, no tracking pixel, and no analytics provider installed.

If you arrive through a campaign link, the campaign parameters in that link are stored in your browser's session storage so that we know which effort brought you here, and they are attached to an inquiry if you send one. Session storage is cleared automatically when you close the tab, and it never leaves your browser unless you submit a form.

Cloudflare, our host, may set a strictly necessary cookie for security and bot protection. JotForm may set its own cookies when a form is submitted, under its own policy.

If analytics are added in future, this section will be updated and, where the law requires it, consent will be requested before anything is loaded.

How long we keep it

Inquiry records are kept for three years from your last contact with us, so we have a record of the engagement and can pick up a conversation where it left off. Email subscription records are kept until you unsubscribe, after which your address is removed from the active list within 30 days.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in that email. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we apply the rights described here to everyone regardless of location, which is simpler and stricter than sorting people by jurisdiction.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and we limit access to inquiry data to those who need it to respond. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is intended for adults and for professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
